At the time I wrote this song I had recently moved to an apartment overlooking beautiful Wooster Square Park in New Haven, CT. I had moved in the previous July so I had no idea that I had moved into a magical place. One day I looked out my window and was just blown away by the beauty of it. I wanted to share it with someone...

It’s the 21^st of April

on a Thursday afternoon

I am looking out my window

At the cherry trees in bloom

And I’m thinking of you…

The park is full of lovers

Walking hand in hand

The scent of Spring is rising up

like perfume from the land

& I am dreaming of you…

I know that you are coming

I’m listening for your step (upon the stair)

And I am wondering

If you are aware

Of how much I long to share this day with you…

And the people walking dogs

Seem to wag their tails

As they speak with perfect strangers

To the tune of the church bells

And the other sounds that softly call the night

The statue of Columbus

takes a solemn stance

As he gazes towards the New World

While the cherry blossoms dance

And the moon begins to fill the sky
